| Park City Performing Arts Foundation is planning an end-of-summer outdoor party and we want you to be the host!
PCPAF would like to bring three of America’s foremost singer/songwriters to Deer Valley Resort as part of the 2009 St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Outdoor Concert Series (date TBA), and we invite YOU to sign on as a sponsor of this one-night-only event.
Texas-bred Robert Earl Keen’s humorous songwriting has graced the albums of George Strait, Lyle Lovett and Nanci Griffith, while his live performances of “The Road Goes on Forever” and “Farm Fresh Onions” have made him an audience favorite. On the other side of the songwriting spectrum is Jill Solbule, whose work is at once deeply personal and socially conscious, seriously funny and derisively tragic. Rising to Top 20 fame in the ’90s with her hit “I Kissed A Girl,” Sobule "can claim her place among the stellar New York singer-songwriters of the last decade. Topical, funny and more than a little poignant ... grown-up music for an adolescent age,” according to The New York Times. A founding member of the Los Angeles punk band X, John Doe was one of the most influential figures in American alternative rock during the early '80s, but when he launched a solo career in the early '90s, he decided to pursue a rootsy, country-rock direction instead of continuing with punk.
Tickets sales from PCPAF’s summer concert series help fund our Arts-in-Education Program, which brings award-winning and internationally-acclaimed performers and filmmakers directly to school children throughout Summit County. Workshops and performances are free to students and their schools. Since Bill Cosby graced The Eccles Center stage as our first performer and first participant in our student outreach program, PCPAF has donated more than $1-million of Arts in Education to youth throughout the county.
However, PCPAF also reaches out to members of our community who might not otherwise be able to attend a show, donating tickets to The Peace House, the Interfaith Council, Latino outreach services, senior citizens, Big Brothers, Big Sisters and additional service groups (totaling $250,000 worth of tickets last year). PCPAF also discounts Eccles Center tickets for students statewide.
Become a part of the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights music magic by contributing to our People’s Show at any level. Certain levels of commitment come with nice perks, but any amount – from $1 to $1,000 – will help PCPAF continue its mission of bringing world-class performers to Park City and, more importantly, into the classroom and into the lives of the underserved.
