| Funny and poignant, Sweeney’s one-woman show, “Letting Go of God” chronicles her journey from belief in God to, well, letting go. The tale begins with the arrival of two Mormon missionaries upon her doorstep, which sparks an unexpected and hilarious exploration as she grapples with her own thoughts on religion, God and the nature of self. In the process, she rejoins the Catholic Church, studies Buddhism, treks the monasteries of the Himalayas, embraces the New age ideas of Deepak Chopra and ponders the scientific method. |
